A Lesson for the Tech Savvy Multi-Tasker

Woke up at 5am this morning with my laptop left from last night's late night work practically in my lap. Sure made it easy to access this morning! This is the first blog that popped up that I chose to read. Funny, isn't it? I mean if I am not doing six things at any given moment, I am asleep. And even then, I try to cram some thinking into that time period too.

As duly noted in the attached link about "just trying to do one thing at one time" and the magical way your brain will feel better and be better is a simple but now seemingly archaic ideal. Technology has removed the possibility of stopping, breathing deeply and just taking time to pull back and think about one thing into the 'never never' world. Simple sounding. In fact, I am visualizing what that may look like myself.

No texting and talking, no driving and calling, no meeting and emailing, just focusing on what is right in front of you. In our world of "expect more and pay less," this beautiful beach vision of one thing at one time seems like a mirage. You know what? I am going to try it today. I am going to commit to focusing on one item, staying with it and then moving off. I am looking forward to this. Give it a try. You may like it!
