What do you think? Is it right that companies are now trying to learn more about you, the personal you, via requiring you to give up your personal Facebook password? Is this the equivalent to asking to see what color underwear you are wearing? Seems a bit over the top to me...
If a good interview team cannot gather enough information to access the "vibe" of a person, I would think re-accessing the interviewing techniques is the way to go. It's almost like cop out. That's my opinion. This being said, at this time of year as millions of young college grads are entering the job force, this is an excellent reminder that who you are is displayed by such venues as your social profiles and social interactions on the web. Everything that is up on the web, stays on the web and puts you in a vulnerable position if and only if you put compromising personal imagery or statements up there.
The solution is simple - Don't put anything on your social profiles that you wouldn't want your mother to see. An easy rule to live by.
